Gambling Addiction

Gambling addiction - also known as pathological gambling, compulsive gambling or gambling disorder—is an impulse-control disorder. If you're a compulsive gambler, you can't control the impulse to gamble, even when it has negative consequences for you or your loved ones. You'll gamble whether you're up or down, broke or flush, and you'll keep gambling regardless of the consequences—even when you know that the odds are against you or you can't afford to lose.

Of course, you can also have a gambling problem without being totally out of control. Problem gambling is any gambling behavior that disrupts your life. If you're preoccupied with gambling, spending more and more time and money on it, chasing losses, or gambling despite serious consequences in your life, you have a gambling problem.

A gambling addiction or problem is often associated with other behavior or mood disorders. Many problem gamblers also suffer with substance abuse issues, unmanaged ADHD, stress, depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. To overcome your gambling problems, you'll also need to address these and any other underlying causes as well.

Health Anxiety

Heartbreak

A broken heart (also known as heartbreak or heartache) is a metaphor for the intense emotional stress or pain one feels at experiencing great loss or deep longing. The concept is cross-cultural, often cited with reference to unreciprocated or lost love.

Failed romantic love can be extremely painful; people with a broken heart may succumb to depression, anxiety and, in more extreme cases, post-traumatic stress disorder.

Hoarding

Hoarding is having so many things that you cannot manage the clutter where you live, and find it difficult or impossible to throw things away. You might hoard because you feel a strong need to keep things. But your connection to these things can cause you distress.

Hypnobirthing

Hypnobirthing can help you manage stress hormones, such as adrenalin, and reduce anxiety, which should lead to a calmer birth. There are several differences between a hypnotist and a certified clinical hypnotherapist. A hypnotist utilizes short-term hypnosis for entertainment purposes and intentionally attempting to humiliate someone to obtain laughs. Hypnotist also may or may not have training in hypnosis; some hypnotists are self-proclaimed, have no training other than self-taught, and trial and error efforts.

A certified clinical hypnotherapist is the complete opposite.  A certified clinical hypnotherapist utilizes hypnosis for long-term changes towards personal change and development. Clinical Hypnotherapist have received training and engaged in yearly continued education to provide the best ecology possible for client’s personal development and desired outcomes.

Why Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is considered a holistic approach to healing because it aims to address the root causes of problems by treating the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects.

Hypnotherapy is based on the idea that the mind and body are interconnected, and that the mind has the power to influence physical health and wellbeing. Through hypnosis, I can help clients access their subconscious mind and create positive changes in their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.

Holistic therapies like hypnotherapy are often used in conjunction with traditional medical treatments to provide a more comprehensive approach to healing. By addressing the underlying causes of issues and promoting overall wellness, hypnotherapy can help people achieve a greater sense of balance and wholeness in their lives.

Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses hypnosis as a tool to help individuals achieve a state of relaxation and heightened suggestibility. During a hypnotherapy session, the therapist guides the client into a trance-like state, where the client is deeply relaxed and open to suggestions.

In this state, the client is able to access their subconscious mind and explore thoughts, feelings, and memories that may be causing distress or hindering their progress. The therapist may use different techniques, such as visualization or positive affirmations, to help the client address and overcome their issues.

Hypnotherapy is a skilled communication aimed at directing a person’s imagination in a way that helps elicit changes in some perceptions, sensations, feelings, thoughts and behaviours.

In a typical hypnotherapy session the hypnotherapist and client will discuss the intended alterations or therapeutic goals desired. The hypnotherapist will ask questions about previous medical history, general health and lifestyle to decide on the best approach for the individual.
Hypnotherapy may be found to be helpful for those seeking relief from a range of problems and is used alongside a person’s own willpower and motivation to seek a desired goal. It is often used to help relieve anxiety, aid sleeping, help to address bedwetting, address attitudes to weight, and help clients achieve behavioural change to stop smoking. It may also help with minor skin conditions that are exacerbated by stress and confidence issues, and may also be used to enhance performance in areas such as sport and public speaking. Hypnotherapy may help people to cope with and manage the relief of perceived pain.

Hypnotherapy has also been used with both adults and children to help manage the pain associated with irritable bowel. There is evidence to support its use in this condition for both adults and children and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Guidance (NICE) recommends the NHS should consider referring patients for hypnotherapy if their irritable bowel is persistent and has failed to respond to simple prescribed medicine.

Choosing a practitioner
It is important to choose a qualified hypnotherapist who has undertaken all the necessary training to understand the theory and practice of hypnotherapy.
You can check whether a hypnotherapist is registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) by searching the register at www.cnhc.org.uk. By choosing hypnotherapists registered with the CNHC you can be confident that they are properly trained, qualified and insured.
